Ideally located in the prestigious Rapaura of N.Zealand sector, the Rimapere vineyard benefits from an exceptional terroir that covers 26 ha comprising of 22 ha of Sauvignon Blanc and just 4 ha of Pinot Noir. Its perfectly balanced tannic texture is complemented by ripe flavours of cherry and other fruits, as well as beautiful acidity.

The style of Baron Edmond has evolved over the years, from a heavily barrel-influenced blend that was overtly smoky and rich to a more complex, elegant and altogether more sophisticated wine. The 2017 feels so compact and elegant with supple tannins and a beautiful sense of restraint and confidence. It does seem to get better and better with each passing vintage.
It has delicate aromas of blackberry, blackcurrants, cedar wood and forest floor and a classically structured mouthfeel with a supple texture, complex layers and a focused linearity on the finish.

A red wine with deep crimson color. The nose is expressive and intense, with fresh fruit (black currant and plum) aromas, a touch of menthol, and delicate hints of oak. The wine starts out rich and full-bodied, going on to show considerable elegance and a fine balance between well-focused, velvety tannin and acidity that contributes freshness and length.
